Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program

LEESBURG, October 1, 2015 – United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties is seeking Tax Preparers for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program in the Leesburg and Clermont areas. The VITA program helps low- to-moderate income households prepare and file their taxes saving taxpayers the costly fees associated with tax preparation. Volunteers receive free training in basic tax preparation and, upon completion, earn a tax-preparer certification. They will gain experience that enhances their resumes while making a difference in their communities.

For more information about volunteering, contact Barbara Crewell at programs2@d1387102.bm93.businessmasters.us or 352-787-7530.

VITA is a free program offered by the federal government. Local sites are coordinated by the United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties.
