Stanley is a 51-year-old disabled U.S. Air Force veteran. After joining the Air Force at 19, he was excited about his life changing forever.
He was honorably discharge for shattered knees from jumping out of a helicopter, and became disabled.
“After four surgeries and repetitive physical therapy, I finally felt normal again,” Stanley said.
His disability and wife’s income supported their family. But in January 2024, his wife became ill and could no longer work due to constant pain.
“We fell behind on the mortgage and needed some assistance,” he said.
Directed by 211 to UWLS for help, Mission United helped with Stanley’s mortgage and money for groceries.
UWLS Mission United program proudly supports veterans, service members and their families in times of need.
