United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties announces its new program and welcomes its newest team member. The Board of Directors approved a new program, called Mission United. Mission United is a case management service for veterans of our country’s military services. Veterans can now receive help from a dedicated case manager to access the benefits and services they need. Once the service is fully operational, veterans can receive this help by calling one number, 2-1-1, to get an appointment.
Too often our veterans don’t get the benefits they deserve because they get discouraged trying to navigate the complicated Veterans’ Administration process. Our Mission United Director will guide our veterans and assist them in getting access. Also, through a case management interview, the case manager may discover other resources available to our veterans.
United Way of Lake and Sumer Counties welcomes Dr. Angelo Cruzsein as our Mission United Director. “I am excited about being a part of United Way Lake and Sumter,” Dr. Cruzsein said. “I look forward to my joining the team and my responsibilities as Mission United Director. I have a passion to help our veterans get the help needed to improve quality of life. I believe we are helpers of one another especially in a time of need.
“As veteran who has needed help myself, I know the challenges our veterans face. I have over 28 years’ experience as a Hospice Chaplain which will help me in my new, compassionate role. I believe strongly in our commitment to the community and I look forward to greater involvement in our Mission to make a difference in building a brighter further for our veterans.”
