Parent Lending Library
Through the generosity of grants and sponsorships, Parent Lending Libraries are being placed in early childhood centers across Lake and Sumter Counties. These Parent Lending Libraries allow parents and guardians to conveniently borrow books to read with their child every day, providing the early literacy skills that prepare children to enter school ready to succeed!
The first Parent Lending Library was placed in 2021. Major sponsors include the Nora Roberts Foundation and Usborne Books & More with their matching grant.
At our First Parent Lending Library, parents will have an opportunity to borrow over 300 books this year and over 300 children have access to amazing books each month!
Ask at your child’s preschool if they are willing to partner with United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties to have a Parent Lending Library placed in their lobby. Contact Michelle Dean, Director, Educational Programs for more details regarding a Parent Lending Library masterteacher@uwls.org.
