Julie Eckenrode was born in Texas, and relocated to Orlando in 1960. She continued her education completing six-four credit hours toward an Associate’s in Science Degree at Valencia Community College while maintaining a 3.88 GPA. Though her focus was Science during college, she has also completed all core courses, courses in Bookkeeping, Basic Principles of Accounting and Records Management.
Julie has extensive experience in administrative assistant tasks. Her office experiences are in law firms, retail business, accounts receivable departments and the veterinary fields. She started in a busy law office as a receptionist, advancing to the administrator’s assistant and support staff supervisor. After ten years of service, and a life change, she decided to pursue a career change. While attending college, she worked in various position to include administrative assistant, Customer Service Representative, stay home mom, kennel assistant, veterinary assistant/receptionist. In addition, she became very active as a wildlife rehabilitation volunteer. At the end of 2014, she started her first of two terms with United Way of Lake & Sumter Counties, Inc. as Administrative Assistant.
During this second term, while presenting a professional and caring front office face of United Way of Lake & Sumter Counties, Inc., she works to help insure the smooth operation of the office. She accomplishes this by providing office and staff support as needed, coordinating tasks to meet department goals, managing the network electronic filing system, donor designation vetting, maintaining office supplies, equipment, furniture, conference room schedule and Board of Directors’ documents and records. She desires to continue to improve her skills and knowledge in all areas of her job. To facilitate this, she aspires to take advantage of ongoing training. She will then be able to make practical, useful application to perform her work to the benefit of all in our office.
Julie is a part-time employee at United Way of Lake & Sumter Counties, Inc. In her time away from the office, she and her husband enjoy travel, spending time with her son, dog and two cats. She still has a heart for helping animals, including wildlife. And, this past year has begun to serve Jesus in a Celebrate Recovery program, a Christian twelve step program, at Trinity Assembly of God. She is part of the CR TEAM serving to help God heal people with any Hurt, Hang up or Habit.
