Where does my investment go?

United Way combines your gift with other gifts and grants to focus on the greatest needs within Lake & Sumter Counties in Education, Health, and Income.

What percentage of my contribution goes towards making Lake & Sumter Counties better?

100% of the money raised in Lake & Sumter Counties that is not designated is used towards improving the quality of life for all residents. Whether that is done through funding programs, running internal programs, processing donations, or fundraising – it all comes together to create the community we all want to live.

Can I specify which agency/program receives my pledge?

Yes. You can invest in Education, Health, and Income programs through our Community Impact Programs. Investing in our community care fund allows our Volunteers to focus on the greatest needs within our community while ensuring the most needed programs remain available. You can also designate to a specific agency upon request. To designate to an agency, you must donate at least $100.00 and the agency must be a registered 501 (c) 3 with IRS. The most impact is made when we focus clearly on specific issues and work together to make real community change.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes. United Way and all United Way agencies are non-profit (501C3) which means you can deduct 100% of your donation.

How can I contribute money to United Way?
