Born Learning Trails – Early Education Meets Outdoor Learning in Lake County Parks
Did you know that gross motor development are movements that include jumping, running, hopping, and skipping? And that children who play outdoors learn about natural elements such as the change of seasons, animals, weather, all of which builds upon their increasing natural curiosity? This is why United Way has partnered with Lake County to transform public park spaces into areas for learning with the new Born Learning Trails signage and activity centers!
The Born Learning Trail signage includes 10 interactive signs that offer active learning activities for young children and their families. These educational signs help parents, caregivers, and communities engage young learners and create quality active educational opportunities when visiting our communities’ local parks and playgrounds.
United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties is pleased to provide, in partnership with Lake County, and the Board of Lake County Commissioners, multiple Born Learning Trails across our beautiful county. Plans to expand the parks in which these learning opportunities are provided are under way and in the meantime, if you would like to hop, skip, and jump your way through our beautiful parks, head out for a stroll and fun day of learning in the sun at any of the following locations.
