SERVING OUR COMMUNITIES IS OUR HOW WE LIVE UNITED
Building Financial Stability
Our community will only prosper and grow if all families are financially stable. Fewer financial stresses lead to healthier lives, improved work performance and better education outcomes. United Way invests in programs that help adults improve their education level and create a more financially secure future for themselves and their families. United Way’s work in Income is focused on ensuring all families and individuals achieve financial stability.
United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties, in partnership with the Dallas Federal Reserve, has a FREE basic budgeting instructional course: Building Wealth Workbook. The course teaches financial terminology, budgeting, saving and investing, taking control of debt and protecting assets.
This all-encompassing program works with individuals to help them achieve their personal financial goals and create dynamic life changes. This program requires a lot of will and determination in order to be successful. The end result could include a college or technical education, business ownership, home-ownership and much more.
