SERVING OUR COMMUNITIES IS OUR HOW WE LIVE UNITED
In Lake and Sumter Counties approximately 70,000 families are at risk for food insecurity and 188,000 people rely on soup kitchens and food pantries to feed themselves and their families. Meanwhile, Florida ranks 12th in food insecurity and SNAP recipients. United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties is working to build healthier, more resilient communities by increasing access to quality health care and preventative care. Our priority is to improve and promote healthier lifestyles, providing access to health services and nutrition resources to support opportunities for a healthy lifestyle for all.
